Suzuki sign on to drive Swift success
Suzuki Australia has joined forces with the NSW Swifts as the Club’s Official Automotive Partner.
The Japanese-founded multinational company, which has produced the iconic Swift since 2004 and been operating in Australia for over 40 years, will also double as a Major Partner of the seven-time Premiers.
The globally recognised “S” trademark Suzuki logo is set to appear on the team’s playing uniform from the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball season when the Swifts will aim to secure back-to-back titles for the first time since the club’s 2006-2008 three-peat.
NSW Swifts Executive General Manager Tracey Scott said the club was thrilled to have Suzuki on board.
“Suzuki are one of the most respected and trusted automotive manufacturers in the world with a long history in Australia, and we are delighted that they want to be a part of the team,” she said.
“Like the Swifts, Suzuki’s story is a proud one, and from small beginnings have grown to be leaders in their space.
“It is a story that resonates with us as a club and we are proud to have secured the backing of such a world-famous organisation and brand.”
Yael Reed, Executive General Manager of Commercial & Marketing at Netball NSW, said the partnership was a great fit for both parties:
“When people hear the word Swift in NSW, they automatically think of two things: the netball team and the car. It is wonderful to see this coming together of two iconic brands.
“I know that Suzuki are really excited to start working alongside the Swifts and can’t wait to be involved when they run out as Premiers at Ken Rosewall Arena in March.”
Michael Pachota, General Manager – Automotive at Suzuki Australia, said the company was delighted to team-up with the defending Premiers.
“Suzuki and our Swift vehicle are renowned around the world for heritage, style, sportiness and for being a whole lot of fun! The NSW Swifts have been the leader when it comes to elite female sports teams in NSW for a number of decades, and true pioneers in their field. The partnership of our two brands just feels right.”
“Their ethos of collective unity, diversity and teamwork, as well as their club-first attitude, has been key to them becoming the most successful club in Australian National Netball League history.
“At Suzuki we have a similar ethos of team-first and we too strive for excellence in our field day in and day out. When it came to signing on with the Swifts it was a question of shared values and we are very excited to see the fruits that our new partnership will produce.
“We are honoured and delighted to be supporting such a storied and successful club and cannot wait for the Super Netball season to commence in March.”
The Swifts start their title defence with a Grand Final rematch against local rivals Giants GIANTS Netball on Saturday 26 March at Ken Rosewall Arena in Sydney Olympic Park.
